Aimhigher Associates Scheme
The Aimhigher Associates Scheme is a mentoring project which involves higher education students mentoring small groups of Year 10 and 11 Aimhigher students from a selection of Norfolk high schools.
As an Aimhigher Associate you will work with a specific group of Year 10 Learners (5-7 in group), visiting them regularly at their school, supporting them and getting to know them. Associates will also engage in e-exchanges with their learners using the Brightlinks website.
With your group of learners you will facilitate discussions on a range of topics. These will relate to the learners aspirations and their understanding of HE. Specifically your work with the learners will:
- Promote the benefits of HE
- Increase awareness of FE and HE opportunities and options
- Reassure learners of the accessibility and affordability of HE
- Help learners achieve their full potential
- Develop and improve the learners’ motivation, confidence, persistence, application and time-management
You will be fully supported in your role as an Associate by the scheme co-ordinators, and a named school co-ordinator.
